Louise Redknapp reveals how Strictly made her re-evaluate her life

Louise opened up about her marriage woes on Sunday, confirming for the first time that she and Jamie have separated and are now living apart after their marriage left her feeling like "a Stepford wife".

The Strictly Come Dancing alum, who will soon be making her stage debut in a new production of Cabaret, also explained that appearing on the BBC show previous year had made her rethink her life.

Louise, who gave up her music career to become a full-time mum, also confessed to "feeling like a Stepford Wife trapped in a Surrey mansion trying to be the ideal mum and wife". "Sometimes I felt like crying because deep down inside me this voice was screaming, 'This is what I have been missing!'"

She said it was only when she signed up for Strictly a year ago that she realised that she wanted to go back to performing and felt "physically sick" at the thought of not doing so. "No one could understand why it was so desperately important to me", she said. And that is when the s**t hit the fan.

Admitting that she's not sure what this will do to her marriage, she continued: 'I have no idea what is going to happen, all I know is that I fought for this, it's taken everything, but this is something I need to do - for me'.
