EA rebuffs 'pay to win' loot criticism of 'SW Battlefront 2'


Each loot crate has been detailed to contain more than just cosmetic items - the crates will contain Star Cars, Weapons and "other" valuable resources.

Following the controversy and complaints players have had about Star Wars Battlefront 2's loot boxes, a roundup following the beta has clarified what the development team are aiming to do with the loot system. Star Cards can be upgraded with crafting parts we get by destroying duplicate Star Cards. As well as villains such as bounty hunter Boba Fett, Electronic Arts confirmed that Darth Vader is a playable character in Star Wars Battlefront 2, so those looking to push the power of the Dark Side in the game are bound to have plenty of options available to them. You can only upgrade or unlock them if you have reached a high enough rank, which is determined by playing the game.

The open beta for "Star Wars Battlefront 2" came to a close earlier this week and it has raised concerns that the final version of the game may be "pay to win".
