Jason Momoa Apologizes for Rape Joke He Made Years Ago

After a video surfaced Thursday of Jason Momoa making a crude rape joke in 2011, the "Aquaman" star apologized on his Instagram account, saying: "I made a truly tasteless comment".

"Oh Jason Momoa, we were all rooting for you, and then you go and make a f****g rape joke", said a fan of the actor.

The video in question showed the actor saying he enjoyed working on the hit HBO show "Game of Thrones" because he got to "rape attractive women".

Both Hackett and Price were attending an Amazon party where Price then allegedly yelled "Anal sex" into the woman's ear. Amazon has two TV projects in development with Weinstein Co. and said this week it's reviewing them.

Game of Thrones has been constantly criticised for its portrayal of rape throughout the series.

Social media users were quick to react with disappointment after seeing the footage.

Momoa elaborated on the comments in an interview with the New York Post.

"As far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that genre because there are so many things you can do, like rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it and rape attractive women", he said from the dais, seated next to cast members including Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen).

"Yeah, I'm raping Emilia [Clarke, who plays Daenerys]".

Ben Affleck, who will star with Momoa in the upcoming Justice League film, has also been forced to admit he "acted inappropriately" and apologised to One Tree Hill actress Hilarie Burton after she spoke of a 2003 incident in which he groped her on live TV.
