Kyrie Irving Excited to Play in a 'Real, Live Sports City'


"It's exciting to be back on the East Coast", Irving said. "And then you move to the East Coast - into Boston - and it's so real [and] alive".

Irving's father Drederick, was a standout player at Boston University and he has spent considerable time in the city.

Last week, after the Celtics' win in Philadelphia, Irving gave a young fan in his Cavaliers jersey his shoes, and he signed them.

But in a city like Cleveland, the small market factor is always something to keep in mind.

It's important to note that it's very possible that Irving's words are coming off harsher than intended.

If he wasn't before, Kyrie Irving is bound to be booed now.

The Cavaliers have been in the NBA Finals every season since LeBron James returned, and the Indians are once again one of the best teams in Major League Baseball. Based on these comments, the decibels of boos might increase.
