Police Re-invite Davido Over Friend's Death


Mr Tagbo, a friend of Davido, died on 3 October and his body was reportedly abandoned in front of a hospital in Lagos.

The Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, stated this yesterday at a briefing in Lagos, where he announced that Davido has been re-invited for questioning.

"The victim was alleged to have been brought in by two unidentified males".

Actress Caroline Danjuma had also earlier accused Davido of being responsible for Tagbo's demise.

He was said to have partied with friends (Davido inclusive) in Lagos, hours before his death. The bar tender confirmed the deceased had as much as 40 stots of Tequila and exhibited signs of drunkenness.

He also said a postmortem examination conducted on the deceased revealed that he died of suffocation. The deceased seemed inebriated in the video and was seen being led towards another vehicle while Davido got into his SUV and was driven away.

Davido has released a statement absolving himself of any foul play in the death of his friend Tagbo Umeike.

The deceased was dumped in a vehicle in front of Lagos Island General Hospital. For this reason, I have instructed the DPO Lion Building and the investigating team to again invite Davido and question him in line with these new findings.
