Google Maps introduced the ability to "visit" planets of the Solar system


Explore Venus and other objects in the solar system in Google Maps.

"For extra fun, try zooming out from the Earth until you are in space!"

Google Maps has now added to its line-up imagery of Pluto, Venus and several moons - a total of 16 celestial bodies.

The company notes that it worked with astronomical artist Björn Jónsson to bring planetary maps of various moons and planets to its service. Google thanks him for his creations, which were developed by drawing inspiration by the actual imagery captured by NASA and ESA (the European Space Agency).

The new additions of the Google Map have been introduced when the NASA and other Private Space companies plan to start human settlements on Mars.
