Latest Doodle by Google showcases famous singer Selena Quintanilla

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, an American singer of Mexican descent, was remembered by her fans Tuesday as October 17 marked the day when her self-titled official debut album was released in 1989.

According to a 1995 New York Times report on Saldivar's conviction, the "jury here in Houston took less than two and a half hours to convict the defendant, Yolanda Saldivar, apparently rejecting the contention of her lawyers that the gun that killed Selena, who was 23, had gone off accidentally and that Ms. Saldivar had really meant to kill herself".

Born on April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson, Texas, Selena became the lead singer of her family's band, Selena Y Los Dinos, at the age of 10.

The Google doodle on Selena is animated to the tune of her popular "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" song.
