Amazon Studios executive Roy Price resigns following sexual harassment claim

Share previously reported Price's departure, and Amazon has confirmed.

Deadline reports that Price, who was acting head of the studio, opted to resign from his position amid renewed allegations of sexual harassment as well as a change in the general direction of the company's video priorities.

Amazon Studios Chief Operating Officer Albert Cheng, a former Walt Disney Co. executive, will oversee the studio while Amazon searches for Price's replacement, according to a statement. Price had been on leave since October 12.

Hackett said she was never made aware of the outcome but also said she never saw Price at any more events. Hackett, daughter of the late science fiction writer and "High Castle" author Philip K. Dick, said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Price repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances toward her after a dinner two years ago during Comic-Con in San Diego. Price could not immediately be reached independently by Reuters and he declined to comment to the Hollywood Reporter.
