The Tragically Hip's Gord Downie Dies at 53 After Brain Cancer Battle

The lead singer of the band The Tragically Hip, Gord Downie, died Tuesday evening, announced Wednesday his family.

Downie, the lyricist of the Canadian rock band, was dubbed the country's "unofficial poet laureate" by the CBC.

A press release published on the page Facebook official of the singer, and signed by "The family Downie", explains that the musician was surrounded by his children and his family.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 "Will Not Be Selling Loot Boxes"
The sequel includes a revamped loot system, five heroes with 15 different career paths, and new talent trees. But perhaps more pertinently Fatshark declared Vermintide 2 will "NOT", capital letters, have loot boxes.

Downie was diagnosed with primary glioblastoma in December 2015, with the band revealing the news in May 2016, saying they'd continue to tour.

But despite his diagnosis, Downie continued to tour with Tragically Hip and produce music.

Hundreds of public screenings were also held to watch the broadcast.

Gerrie Nel's Bid to Prosecute Duduzane Zuma Fits the Private Prosecution Bill
Nel announced that his private prosecuting unit at AfriForum has instituted legal action seeking to prosecute Zuma junior. Afriforum says it believes the deceased woman's family deserves justice, no matter who the perpetrator is.

It says Downie passed away with his children and family close by.

"Gord said he had lived many lives", the statement said. No one worked harder on every part of their life than Gord. Today, Rutledge looked back at that recording period as one of support, of gleaning wisdom from a man he looked up to for years.

The final show, on August 20, 2016, was held at Kingston's K-Rock Centre on 1 Tragically Hip Way and counted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau among the attendees. The concert was broadcast live by the CBC and streamed to a worldwide audience. Past year the group unveiled Man Machine Poem, their final studio LP.
