The lead singer of the band The Tragically Hip, Gord Downie, died Tuesday evening, announced Wednesday his family.
Downie, the lyricist of the Canadian rock band, was dubbed the country's "unofficial poet laureate" by the CBC.
A press release published on the page Facebook official of the singer, and signed by "The family Downie", explains that the musician was surrounded by his children and his family.
