Pathe and Calamity Films have set Renee Zellweger to star in Judy, playing the legendary Judy Garland in the true story of the singer and actress' final concerts in London.

Directed by Tony nominee Rupert Goold, the film will pay particular attention to the LGBT+ icons final concerts in London.

John Stamos is engaged to Caitlin McHugh
McHugh told "Entertainment Tonight" in January that "They say if you can do a film together, you can do anything together". This will be the second marriage for Stamos, who was married to Rebecca Romijn from 1998 until 2005.

As well as chronicling her iconic battles with management and her relationship with fans, Judy will delve into her relationship with her soon-to-be fifth husband, nightclub manager Mickey Deans, who she married in March 1969.

Bridget Jones's Diary star Zellweger, 48, will star in the London-set Judy, set to go into production in February next year. And yet Garland is fragile. The producers said the movie will feature some of Garland's best-known songs.

Renée Zellweger showed her enormous musical talent in Chicago nearly ten years ago and has continued to be an acting icon since. These shows ended up being her last cabaret performances and were, by most accounts, kind of a disaster. After working for 45 of her 47 years, she is exhausted; haunted by memories of a childhood lost to Hollywood and gripped by a desire to be back home with her kids. So when news broke that she would be playing the iconic Judy Garland, I was excited because that is an awesome choice, but I also feel like Zellweger will be able to masterfully handle the complexity of the role.

Zellweger's latest movie is "Same Kind of Different as Me", which debuted October 20.
