The West Bengal BJP chief today criticised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her opposition to linking Aadhaar with mobile phone numbers, alleging that complying with the directive will "expose the corruption" of her party men. "They can send all our leaders to jail but we will continue to oppose the anti-people policies of the central government".
"TMC will observe November 8 as "Black Day" and conduct rallies throughout the state carrying black flags", she said, while speaking at an extended core committee meeting of Trinamool Congress in Kolkata.

She later warned friends not to come over to her house because they may also be attacked. Tania's son Cody said his mum had "the biggest heart".
Chowdhury, who is also an MP from West Bengal, said though his party was with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in the fight against demonetisation, "nothing is going to stop me from raising corruption issues against the government in the state". "They are doing whatever they like", she said, noting that the TMC has not been elected at anybody's mercy and it has emerged stronger through its long struggle.
The development comes a day after a plea was filed challenging the notification of the Department of Telecom on linking of mobile numbers with Aadhaar. Mamata said that TMC does not want to be in power in Delhi but it has to play a role so that BJP is removed from power at the Centre. "No one can raise voice against them, else I-T, ED, CBI will be unleashed", Banerjee alleged.

I want it to be ready. "It'll be soon, I definitely feel stoked about putting a piece together". It's a lot sooner than I think people anticipate but I also want to call the shots.
"They (Centre) are interfering with people's rights and privacy".
"Demonetisation is the biggest scam in the country". The TMC chief also charged the Modi government with snatching away the freedom of the press and alleged that if any news organisation dared to speak against it, they were harassed. "Our party leaders will observe "Kala Dibas" (Black Day) in each and every block between 2 p.m and 3 p.m on November 8", Banerjee announced here. "The people need to be protected from the evil designs of this government", she said.
