Drug overdose deaths continue tragic climb in the Okanagan


So far in 2017, just over 1,100 people have died of overdose-related deaths in British Columbia.

Of the total number of overdose deaths, 83 per cent had fentanyl detected in the drug, representing an increase of 147 per cent over the same period in 2016.

Carfentanil has been detected in 37 suspected illicit drug overdose deaths between June and September of 2017.
