Lotus has released the extreme 430-horsepower coupe Exige Cup 430

Lotus continues to roll out the special editions.

As the "Cup" name implies, this Exige is a proper track auto. And we believe it. That number represents a 55 hp (41-kW) increase over the standard Exige. You've probably figured out by now what the 430 stands for, but you should also know it reaches its peak power at a juicy 7,000 rpm and also develops 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque from 4,000 rpm. It all comes paired to a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox, naturally.

The Lotus Exige Cup 430 is a very good example of what that might be.

Police complete fifth questioning of PM Netanyahu in corruption probes
Earlier this week, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer was summoned by the police to testify in regards to the case.

Headlining features include an array of carbon-fibre components - the front splitter, "front access panel", side air intakes, tailgate and "race-derived" fixed rear wing.

Developing 430 horsepower, the vehicle has a top speed of 180mph and has lapped the company's test track at Hethel in Norfolk in 1:24.8 seconds - the fastest lap time set by any of its production cars and 1.3 seconds quicker than the Lotus 3-Eleven. For optimum handling, the auto also comes with standard front and rear anti-roll bars, three-way adjustable dampers, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and the largest brakes ever fitted to a Lotus production vehicle.

Compared to the previous Exige Cup 380 - which was a limited-run version - the Cup 430 has 15 per cent more power, 9 per cent more downforce allocated to the front, while the interior shaves some 2.5 kilograms.

"This is the vehicle that we have always wanted to build, and I am sure that all Lotus enthusiasts will be delighted with the end product", said CEO Jean-Marc Gales.

The Exige Cup 430 won't be as limited as the other special editions before it, and can be ordered now with an asking price of £99,800 in the United Kingdom, €127,500 in Germany, and €128,600 in France.
