Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell is expected to miss several games after suffering a left knee injury against the Utah Jazz on Saturday.

Russell drove to the basket with just under three minutes to play, and attempted to abruptly stop for a ball fake. The Nets' backcourt has been hit hard by injuries, with Jeremy Lin out for the season with a ruptured patellar tendon and backup Spencer Dinwiddie out with a sore hamstring.

Liz Smith, Longtime Gossip Columnist, Dies at 94
Longtime New York gossip columnist Liz Smith , who chronicled President Trumps for years, has died at the age of 94. Smith was once reportedly the highest-paid print journalist in the United States, according to theNew York Times.

The former Los Angeles Lakers draft pick was traded in te off-season with Timofey Mozgov to the Nets for Brook Lopez and Kyle Kuzma. Russell landed awkwardly and hobbled to the bench before going to the locker room. Their worst fears were alleviated when Russell was diagnosed with a left knee contusion.

Russell's injury won't hurt the Nets too much in the short term.

LeBron James to Knicks: 'You should have drafted Dennis Smith Jr.'
But in the process of slighting Jackson Saturday night, James also took a direct shot at Ntilikina - whether he meant to or not. Notes & quotes: Forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas was waived to make room for center Joakim Noah's return from his suspension.

The team did not say how many games Russell would miss. Spencer Dinwiddie, now second on the point guard depth chart after Lin's injury, is also dealing with a wonky hamstring, which could force Brooklyn to get creative moving forward. Conversely, the Nets inauspicious struggles are another dose of good news for the suddenly surging Cleveland Cavaliers, who own the Nets' unprotected first-round pick that's been tossed around like a hot potato for the past few seasons.

Rudy Gobert Out 4-6 Weeks With Knee Injury
After riding a four-game losing streak, the Jazz broke the skid on Saturday with a 114-106 win over Brooklyn. Gobert will get re-evaluated in four weeks.
