Dallas prosecutor fired after audio surfaces of her berating, fighting Uber driver

An Uber driver in Texas claims a Dallas prosecutor threatened to accuse him of kidnapping her during a drunken rant, telling him: "Who are they going to believe?"

A Dallas County prosecutor has been fired after an Uber driver accused her of hitting, insulting and accusing him of abducting her as he was driving her home from a bar. Also in the recording, Warner can be heard hurling insults at the driver while letting him know of her position in the DA's office.

The context, Warner would go on to say, was that she felt uncomfortable when the driver ignored his Global Positioning System and began driving her home an unfamiliar way.

Warner explained Tuesday that she became concerned by the driver's actions when he started taking a route that she did not know, and particularly when he turned down a wrong street.

The incident happened last Friday night when Warner, who admitted to drinking a bit too much, called for an Uber to take her back home from a pub. She also says, "you're so stupid, I want the cops to come, I want the cops to come so that they can [expletive] you up...that's what I want". At that point, Platt says he stopped the auto but Warner refused to get out.

Platt did not file criminal charges against Warner. "I'm a district attorney".

"Who are they going to believe?"

Platt: I'm asking you politely to please step out of my vehicle. "You're free to leave", Platt said.

Warner worked in the district attorney's office for six years before getting her walking papers.

District Attorney Faith Johnson announced Monday afternoon that after a "thorough investigation", she had terminated the employment of Warner, 32. "I encourage you, the public, to look beyond this incident and recognize that our prosecutors work hard each day to seek justice on your behalf". Frizell resigned as a judge this year to run for district attorney.

Once police arrived Platt said he declined to press charges. "You're kind of right.' So I took out my phone and I recorded it".

Warner said she doesn't know what Platt's intentions were and apologized for her words. "You're committing a third- to first-degree felony". I was just telling Facebook friends and when I get home I have thousands of views. She wrote: "After careful consideration and a thorough investigation, I have made a decision to terminate Ms. Warner". "As public servants, we represent the people of Dallas County and are examples of justice, professionalism, and ethical behavior both inside and outside of the courtroom". I will not waiver on my expectation of the highest integrity for myself or my staff. But the cop and Warner, who was 'let off the hook, ' left in a police auto, he told the Dallas Morning News.

Cpl. DeMarquis Black, a spokesman for the Dallas Police Department, said the agency has contacted the district attorney's office and is investigating the incident.

Criminal defense attorney Pete Schulte defended Warner in a Twitter post.

But she continued to berate the driver.
