Tenty-five people were injured after an SMRT train collided with a stationary train at Joo Koon station at 8.20am on Wednesday morning (Nov 15), the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT said.
"SCDF alerted to incident near Joo Koon MRT at 8:33 am".
SMRT and LTA added that they are investigating the incident. Six members and other seven managerial staff of SMRT's Building and Facilities Maintenance group were found responsible for the maintenance of the pump system, which was related to the incident, according to local media.

One commuter posted on social media that she was on the train that crashed into the one in front. At 8.19am, a second train stopped behind the first faulty train, but a minute later, the second train moved forward unexpectedly and came into contact with the first train.
"SCDF resources are at the scene attending to the injured", it said in a post on its Facebook page.
About half the injured passengers were taken to the National University Hospital.

Joo Koon station was closed to passengers after the incident till around 11.20am. At least 10 emergency vehicles were seen outside the station.
Wednesday's collision was the latest knock on Singapore's reputation for slick infrastructure after the city-state witnessed a commuter chaos earlier this year.
