Maruti Suzuki India, the largest passenger cars maker in India, announced a sold 154,600 units in November 2017, which was 14.1% higher compared with 135,550 units in November 2016.

Maruti Suzuki's November domestic sales edged higher by 15 per cent to 145,300 units from 126,325 units. The total volume of shares traded was 4,654 at the BSE (10.13 a.m., Friday).

In FY2017, the company had sold a total of 1,568,603 units (domestic + exports).

Sajeev Rajasekhran, EVP, Sales and Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, "The consistent growth is a testament to the successful fructification of the new product strategy at Suzuki Two-wheelers where we have aligned our focus on the premium segment of scooters (125cc and above), and premium motorcycles (150cc and above)".

Ford India Pvt. Ltd's sales rose 13.1% to 7,777 units on the back of the refreshed version of the company's flagship compact SUV, the EcoSport, said Anurag Mehrotra, president and managing director, Ford India.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales for Maruti last month went up by 14.3 per cent with 1.44 lakh units sold against the 1.26 lakh units that were sold in November 2016. Also, while demand for Toyota flagship hybrid auto, the Camry hasn't seen any major uplift, the company is optimistic customers will "understand and appreciate the benefits of clean and green-friendly HV (Hybrid Vehicle) technology". The compact vehicle segment under the passenger vehicles showed an impressive growth of 32.4% to 65,447 units.

Conversely, exports for November 2017 stood at 2,531 vehicles, a de-growth of six per cent. Nevertheless, industry executives took the strong performance in a traditionally weak month as a positive sign.

Toyota is estimated to have grown sales by 12 per cent last month.

Exports on the other hand saw a massive fall of nearly 47-per cent with the company exporting 686 units in November 2017, compared to the 1,284 units exported during the same month a year ago.

Sales at Mahindra came in at 16,030 units during November, a 21.45% rise.

Korean carmaker Hyundai, the second-biggest, had its sales slip 8 per cent last November. UV sales grew 34 per cent. Honda Cars India's sales rose 19% 11,819 units.

TVS Motor Company registered a sales growth of 12 per cent from 224,971 units sold in November 2016 to 251,965 units in the like month of 2017.
