After being announced back in April, seminal Naughty Dog adventure Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy launched on the PS4 as part of the PS2 Classics selection back in August. Jak and Daxter evolved from whimsical lighthearted platforming characters to a much darker vision of a future's past world where Jak and Daxter find themselves pitted against multiple dark forces moving against them.

Jak 2 originally launched 15 years ago, in 2003, nearly two years after Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

Originally developed by Naughty Dog, all three games will receive the full PS2 Classics treatment (including visuals up-rendered to 1080p and full Trophy support) for their re-release on the PS4. Besides these upgrades, fans may notice some other minor technical improvements as well, such as faster load times.

After a bit of speculation over the past few days, Sony has confirmed that the remaining three games in the Jak and Daxter series are coming to the PS4. Jak and Daxter is a trademark of Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC. However, in response to the leak, Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer denied that the studio is working on a new game in the series. In celebration of their release, Sony has released a new trailer that goes over some of what you can expect to see in the games. Naughty Dog would go on to create the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises.

Jak 2 was originally released in October 2003, almost two years after its predecessor, and is noted for bringing a darker feel to the franchise (both in its gameplay, by introducing shooting mechanics, and in its story).
