Whatsapp introduces new restricted group feature

WhatsApp is constantly seeking to provide its user with new features and the attention has been placed on group chats.

Facebook-owned messaging application WhatsApp has been coming up with innovative ideas and features to facilitate the users and their daily requirements while communicating with others through the platform. According to WABetaInfo, a fan site that tests new WhatsApp features early, the popular mobile messaging platform has submitted the "Restricted Groups" setting via Google Play Beta Programme in the version 2.17.430.

Essentially, the new feature promises to give the administrator more power in a group chat. Some members of the group may post text messages, photos, videos, zip files, and documents irrespective of necessity. From now on, we can restrict such messages.

In October, reports said administrators on WhatsApp groups will soon be able to choose if other participants can modify the subject of the group, its icon and its description.

As per the WABeta Info website, WhatsApp is testing this feature in the version 2.17.430 on both Android and iOS. Group Administrators only have options to activate "Registered Groups" setting.

If administrators decide to disable the chat conversation for a non-admin group member, the later can perform limited operations: read messages, mute the group and send messages to the group administrator. There is no way to respond. The message could be posted in the group but only after the approval of the group admin.

You bring so much light to my life and to the lives of everyone who knows you. "You mean so much to us, me especially". Kardashian shared several posts from the bash on both Instagram Stories and Snapchat.

Non-admins could message the group admins directly using the button of "Message Admin", which would then transfer their messages to the group's admin. Bringing features like "Restricted Groups" makes sense given that a group has several members and some major announcement by the admin can go unnoticed amidst several other comments. The Whatsapp Team is working to work more efficiently.
