JuJu Smith-Schuster's illegal shot knocks Vontaze Burfict out of the game


Burfict would eventually have to be immobilized and carted off the field and the illegal hit seems that much more classless given that Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier appears to have suffered a very serious back injury earlier in the game where he lost movement in his legs.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown turned heads after his team's 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday when he offered to pay teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster's potential fine following a vicious hit. On Monday, Smith-Schuster was the one in the wrong.

In the fourth quarter, JuJu Smith-Schuster hit Vontaze Burfict with a brutal hit to the helmet. He was also penalized for standing over the linebacker and taunting him.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and The Athletic's Mark Kaboly, Brown called Smith-Schuster's hit on Burfict "karma".

Bell, who drew an unnecessary roughness penalty for tangling with then shoving away Burfict on the sixth play of the game from scrimmage, said the opposing linebacker would be in his prayers. "But I don't hold any grudges, I don't go out there hoping guys get hurt".

Livingston was given a technical foul and ejected from the game after the incident for making contact with an official. Plenty of other players, including Andre Iguodala, Patrick McCaw and Draymond Green, can also initiate the offense.

"I was just grateful I was able to get through the game", Brown said.
