PayPal reveals payment company it acquired earlier this year was hacked

TIO networks that runs a network of over 60,000 utility and bills payment kiosks across North America was acquired by Paypal earlier this year for $233 million.

Mosier said personal information that may have been compromised includes, name, address, Duke Energy account number, account balance and banking information, if the customer paid by check.

This ongoing investigation has identified evidence of unauthorized access to TIO's network, including locations that stored personal information of some of TIO's customers and customers of TIO billers. The leak apparently happened through TIO networks - a company that PayPal recently acquired.

McDonald's new 'dollar' menu to intensify price war in 2018
This includes soft drinks of any size, the McChicken, a cheeseburger and the sausage burrito. It's the first time Happy Meals have been included on a value menu, according to McDonald's.

Those payments were processed by TIO Networks, which was hacked in an attack disclosed after the company was purchased in July by PayPal Holdings Inc.

And they have admitted that they have "identified a potential compromise of personally identifiable information for approximately 1.6 million customers".

Fortunately, we don't have to lunge for our PayPal accounts this time around: PayPal says that TIO systems are separate from its own.

Cineworld to buy Regal Entertainment Group for $3.6 billion
An increasing ROE indicates that a company is improving its ability to make profit without requiring as much capital. The firm had revenue of $716.00 million during the quarter, compared to analyst estimates of $701.66 million.

PayPal announced the suspension of TIO Networks' operations in November due to its "discovery of security vulnerabilities on the TIO platform and issues with TIO's data security program that do not adhere to PayPal's information security standards".

Only TIO users have been impacted, this data breach has not affected users of any other PayPal service or PayPal itself.

As you may know, these data breach issues are nothing new. "We will continue to communicate important updates to customers". "We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to you by the disruption of TIO's service".
