Buhari hints on seeking re-election, says 'people of Kano in my pocket'

Most towns in Kano state are in complete lock down as President Muhammadu Buhari begins his 2-day visit to the state.

President Buhari said, "I know the elections".

He was received at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport by Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, members of the State Executive Council, Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, traditional rulers as well as politicians, among others.

President Buhari also yesterday pardoned 500 inmates in Kano and donated undisclosed cash to them to start businesses.

The "commissioning" of the release of the prisoners took place at the Kurmawa Central Prison in Kano.

President Buhari also praised Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for his efforts so far at implementing projects that have direct bearing on the standard of living of the people.

"We are determined to better the life of our people", he stated, as he commended the Kano Emirate which he said consistently supported him in all the public offices he occupied.
