GAME BOY is Coming Back-in "Ultra" Form!

While it remains unclear whether Nintendo will release a Game Boy Classic Edition this year similar to the insanely popular NES and SNES models, Hyperkin has made a decision to take matters into their own hands.

With the working title of "Ultra Game Boy", Hyperkin's creation - now on display at CES 2018 in Las Vegas - is an attempt to bring the jaunty Tetris music into 2018.

Hyperkin, a company well-versed in making peripherals and replacement parts (including various Game Boy accessories) for gamers, just rolled out what they're calling the "Ultra Game Boy" at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Twitch snags last-minute Overwatch League streaming deal
But the Overwatch League is clearly one of its biggest investments - if not the biggest investment - by the company to date. Money from the purchases will go toward supporting each team however, rather than going directly to Blizzard.

Based on reports from CES 2018, the Ultra Game Boy will function more or less like a classic Game Boy.

Then there's the sound system, which will include stereo speakers and two audio-out connections, reportedly as part of an effort to help electronic musicians generate high-quality songs from the device (yeah, people actually do that).

There might be one detail that prevents people from buying up the Ultra Game Boy with the fervor we saw with the SNES Classic: Gizmodo points out that it won't feature pre-installed games. Your original Game Boy is probably covered in knicks and scratches, but it will take a lot of abuse for Hyperkin's remake to start showing wear and tear.

Call of Duty WWII Zombies continues with The Darkest Shore
The video features The Darkest Shore is the next chapter of the feature set a few days after the disaster at Mittelburg. Along with the new zombies content, The Resistance DLC also contains three new multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: WW2 .

Because this isn't an official Nintendo release, the name could change before it hits the market.

Instead, this is simply the best possible version of the Game Boy you'll ever put your hands on.

Hyperkin is reportedly planning to release the Ultra Game Boy by late summer of this year for a price point under $100. However, all classic Game Boy titles should work on this console. In addition to the original's volume and contrast dials, the Hyperkin console will have a third dial to adjust the color of the console's backlit LED display.
