Thomas Bjorn dismissed any suggestions that his Europe-led contingent will steamroll to another landslide victory over Team Asia at the EurAsia Cup which begins on Friday at the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club in Kuala Lumpur.

Paul Dunne will have his first taste of playing for Europe this weekend ahead of a possible Ryder Cup debut in September.

Tommy Fleetwood, who won the season ending Tour Championship will lead the 10 automatic qualifiers that include England's Tyyrrell Hatton, Ross Fisher and Matthew Fitzpatrick, Spain's Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Austria's Bernd Wiesberger, Paul Dunne (Ireland), Thomas Pieters (Belgium), and Swedish duo Alex Noran and Henrik Stenson.

While Europe drew 10-10 in the first EurAsia Cup in 2014, skipper Bjorn fears his side face a far tougher task than two years ago, when Shane Lowry was in the side that hammered Asia 18.5-5.5.

Bjorn has six players with Ryder Cup experience on his roster in Malaysia and he believes this will be a good dress-rehearsal for him and many of his team. "I noticed that every single pairing was comfortable with each other".

It gives Denmark's Bjorn a great chance to test players in a team environment before the showdown against United States of America in Paris. "So for me, it has been a little bit of a challenge but it's fun, as well".

"In terms of how all-consuming the captaincy is, I really feel it's on my mind 24/7", he said. I think he's a good captain for us.

The match-play event will start tomorrow with the four-ball competition before the foursomes takes place the following day (January 13). "You can be underdogs on paper, but once the matches start, anything can happen". I've never questioned the captain's decision in any team event I've played in.

Along with 2016 Open champion Henrik Stenson, Bjorn boasts European Tour order of merit victor Tommy Fleetwood, as well as fellow young English hotshots in Tyrrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick.
