Meet Hoda Kotb, Matt Lauer's replacement on 'Today' show

Over the past few years, they've shared some big moments, including their delivery of the news that Lauer would no longer be on the show.

Carson Daly, Matt Lauer, Hoda Kotb and Megyn Kelly of NBC's "Today Show" in early November pose for a photo to celebrate the upcoming 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Still, Kotb, who officially scored the hosting gig alongside Guthrie on Tuesday, said she isn't paying any mind to money matters.

According to a show insider that spoke to Page Six, Kotb is content with her pay. Read to find out what Kotb is pocketing from her new gig. She joined the network in 1998 as a correspondent on the "Dateline" newsmagazine.

Since Lauer did occupy Today coanchor chair for over two decades, seniority could be a factor here, but it's frankly unacceptable that Kotb's salary comes nowhere within spitting distance of Lauer's exorbitant salary. And this is despite getting a raise from her old gig, where she co-hosted the "Today" show's fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford at 10 a.m. since 2008.

Hoda Kotb has been named Today co-anchor, joining Savannah Guthrie, the NBC morning show unveiled Tuesday (Jan. 2).

"I'm not making Matt Lauer money", Kotb told People. Certain texts popped up, and there was one from Matt: "'Congratulations!'" Kotb told E!

"I am pinching myself", said a beaming Kotb, sitting beside her. The former Fox News host's "monster deal" is as high as $20 million per year for just hosting "Today's" 9 a.m. hour.

Lauer, 59, said in his statement that some of the accusations against him were "untrue or mischaracterized" but that "there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed".
