Steve Kerr Slams "Irrational Nonsense" Of LaVar Ball Coverage

You can add Dick Vitale to the list of people not happy with ESPN's coverage of LaVar Ball following his comments on Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton.

Carlisle argued that the story that quoted LaVar Ball was "deplorable". I've never had to talk to a parent who is upset about playing time.

If the Lakers will have to renounce Randle's rights just to get under the cap threshold to sign their target superstars next summer, then, the thinking goes, they should trade him now to get some return on investment. But, after a period of silence, LaVar Ball sounded off to an ESPN reporter while with his two younger sons, who are playing in Lithuania. That's true in politics and entertainment and now sports. It doesn't matter if there is anything of substance involved with an issue. It's just 'Can we make it really interesting.' For no apparent reason.

"There's nothing interesting about that story [LaVar's comments about Walton]". It's just tough. It's the world we're in and we all made it. "I was thinking about ESPN and they laid off, I don't know, 100 people, how many people did they lay off over the previous year?"

Former WWE Star To Compete In The Women's Royal Rumble
She hasn't wrestled for the company since she lost a "Loser Leaves WWE" match against Layla at Extreme Rules in 2011. Holly left WWE in 2005 and made a one-time appearance for a 25-Diva Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25 in 2009.

"This is not an ESPN judgement, it's a societal thing more than anything", Kerr said.

If he wants to show everyone he's his own man, if he just wants to try to win games and get better, if he wants to stay with the Lakers, then it's time to convey to his father what Klay Thompson has with his and countless others in all professions have with theirs. It's not even news really, it's complete nonsense. Because he always has to be the center of attention.

The coach said he understands media criticism of coaches, but doesn't appear to be a fan of it coming out of the mouth of a player's father. The Lakers also lack contributing veteran players who can help the younger players learn how to win games.

It was a collective team effort that was also once again ignited by the play of rookie point guard Lonzo Ball, who registered an all-around performance with a double-double with 11 assists, 11 rebounds, along with five points, five steals, and a block in the contest.

Delta sees lowest property value increase in Fraser Valley
The Okanagan's total assessment value increased from $98 billion in July of 2016 to $119 billion in July of 2017. The biggest gains are seen across all residential types in Langley, with assessed values up almost 20 per cent.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with you guys criticizing coaches", Van Gundy said.

He took what the defense was giving him, showing no fear facing one of the premier teams in the league. He shouldn't have to deal with this. Carlisle insisted that National Basketball Association "coaches do a lot of things to help [ESPN] with access, interviews and all those kinds of things".

It's a question we all face in the business of media and how it relates to society as a whole: Is this about educating readers to provide the smartest, most insightful content possible - or chasing clicks because a larger-than-life personality elicits a polarizing reaction?

So far, Steve Kerr has the best answer to date. But I am a coach.

Barcelona reject idea of release clause in Messi contract
Messi is likely to see out his remaining contract with the club and keep destructing defences like he has been doing ever since donning the Barcelona jersey.

"I was thinking about ESPN and they laid off, I don't know 100 people?", Kerr said earlier this week, via SB Nation.
