The MicroLED technology featured in The Wall eliminates the need for color filters or backlight, yet allows the screen to offer consumers the ultimate viewing experience, according to Samsung. The show also features futuristic concepts, such as a display you can roll up like wrapping paper and hide away.

Samsung Electronics' "The Wall", the first MicroLED TV, and the rollable display from LG Display stood out the most, being selected for recommendation by most of the media. All Smart TV from this year will be equipped with Samsung Knox; if the security software detects a malicious application it'll remove it.

Thanks to its smaller self-emitting LEDs, Samsung's technology promises an even brighter image while delivering black levels that are on a par with or better than OLED.

Artificial intelligence and 8K dominated the television presentations from LG and Samsung at the CES tech show in Las Vegas. That is something you would only expect from a projected screen. LG Displays sells the technology directly to display manufacturers - they will decide if they want to use it for their own products. The Wall is possibly the first large television from this or any brand to, supposedly, come equipped with a technology called modular Micro LED, in which LEDs on the display can be lit up individually with colors appearing more vibrant than ever before and with flawless infinite contrast due to a complete lack of backlight technology.

The weather front is expected to move out Friday, but a second wave of cold air will follow it, leading to a cold weekend. Forecasters say there could be significant impacts to road surfaces, making for potentially hazardous driving conditions.

The company unveiled its 146-inch television screen "The Wall" this week at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. These smaller than normal LEDs provide the background lighting separately for each pixel, unlike in traditional LED backlit LCD TVs. A big draw is that it's modular, which means users can customize the size and shape of the screen by adding or removing sections of it.

Beyond saying it would ship this year, no pricing or availability for MicroLED was announced. At 146 inches, this thing is a true monster that outclasses even some 4K projectors in how much display space it can give you.
