The Foreign Office on Thursday said operation between Pakistan and the United States was imperative for the regional peace and specifically for stability in Afghanistan.

A Pakistani court has ordered the release of a radical anti-U.S. cleric who went to Afghanistan with thousands of volunteers to help the Taliban fight against Americans after the 2001 USA -led invasion, a defense lawyer said Tuesday.

"Pakistan has not run out of options but it should take more steps if the USA keeps on taking action against Pakistan", he added.

The foreign minister of Pakistan Khwajah Mohammad Asif has claimed that the intelligence nexus between Afghanistan and India is contributing to regional instability.

Ambassadors of the various countries in Islamabad attended a briefing on Wednesday held under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Defense experts think the USA allegations and halt to military aid have forced the Pakistani government to use its leverage as it has this option, in view of the growing US pressure and its use of the blame game.

The US and others have long complained that Pakistan offered safe haven to the Afghan Taliban and their allies, the Haqqani Network, allowing them to carry out cross-border attacks in Afghanistan.

Although it is still not clear how much aid has been stopped, Mr Olson said the decision could affect about $1.3 billion worth of annual aid.

Last week's announcement that $900 million for Pakistan in Coalition Support Funds would be frozen came just days after Trump tweeted criticism of the USA for "foolishly" giving military aid to Pakistan despite the country giving "save haven" to terrorists at the start of the New Year.

Pakistan says the United States is scapegoating it for USA failures in Afghanistan. "The specific individual things we're doing are best handled in private, to ensure that we can be most productive - and that's what we're working now".

The FO spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan has sacrificed the most in the war against terrorism, which cost the country more than 120 billion dollars.

Islamabad had earlier showed restraint despite allegations by the US leaders and aid suspension but the defense minister's statement could be seen an indication that his country will be forced to make decision in its national interests. Tensions between the United States and Russian Federation have been high since Russian Federation was accused of meddling in the latest USA presidential elections.

This is still a goodwill gesture by Pakistan at a time when the USA and its allies are still facing serious security challenges in Afghanistan and Pakistan's security cooperation is vital to the US success in Afghanistan.
