Snow falls in Florida


Snow and ice prompted Florida officials to close a 50-mile stretch of Interstate 10 from Tallahassee eastward.

The winter storm produced the first measurable snow in Tallahassee, Florida, in over 28 years.

Kids in Florida who have never seen snow got a chance to play by building snowmen and making snow angels.

About.1 inch of snow/sleet was accumulated on the roof of the National Weather Service's Tallahassee office, the agency said.
