By tea , he had hit six fours and played the lead role in an unbroken partnership of 52 with Murali Vijay, who was 31 not out. Brief scores: South Africa 335 all out in 113.5 overs (Markram 94, Du Plessis 63, Amla 82; Ashwin 4/13, Ishant 3/46).

Thousands of people attending the world's biggest consumer technology show got a chance to test the battery life of the latest gadgets Wednesday when some showrooms and hallways went dark inside the vast Las Vegas Convention Center. CES is, as NBC News notes, the biggest tech show in the world. While power within the South Hall was restored minutes later, it took two hours to fully restore power in the Central Hall, with conference organisers confirming on Twitter at 1.09pm that power was slowly being rolled out in the Central Hall.

It had been the city's first rainfall in 116 days, and had marked the wettest January day on record for the area, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal newspaper.

The Consumer Technology Association, which runs the event, has thanked visitors for their patience.

Thibaut Courtois hits out at Chelsea fans after Leicester City draw
Jan 5: Conte said: "Sometimes, someone forgets what's said in the past, which is his behaviour". Just two goals in eight Premier League games, Morata's poor form continued against Leicester.

As one would expect at an event filled with tech enthusiasts, plenty of pictures and videos of the eerily darkened scene hit Twitter during the outage, with the hashtag #CESBlackout quickly becoming a top trending topic. Intel had a tongue-in-cheek announcement for a product called "Blackout". The power outrage, caused by an error with fairly rudimentary electronics, is ironic considering the wealth of next-generation technology exhibited throughout the event.

And in a sign of the huge energy draw from the tech show, once the crowds were let back in, the return to full, blazing electronic glory was slow.

CES attendees posted images on social media of the blackout, with one sharing a video of a woman playing a violin to entertain guests at the Intel booth.
