Chris Rock's New Netflix Comedy Special Debuts Tonight at Midnight

Rock revealed the big news via social media, with a video explaining that the mysterious "Tamborine" teasers the premium streaming service has been throwing at users for over a week are promos for his surprise special. That news was the first of many for Netflix as they really put an emphasis on bringing the greatest comedians to ever live to Netflix.

With his trademark laser-like observations, Rock covers the gamut of contemporary issues, with incisive and insightful commentary on life. For those not in the know, that's Valentine's Day. Rock joins the ranks of other splashy comedy acquisitions Netflix has made in recent years, including shows and specials from Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Schumer, and David Letterman.

The comedian's last stand-up special, Kill the Messenger, was released in 2008.

The announcement for Rock's special came with a bit of mystery.

Some believed that it may have been a teaser for another season of Arrested Development or Sense8, but Netflix has finally announced that Tamborine is actually the title of a new Chris Rock stand-up special slated to debut tomorrow.
