By accepting a level two offence, Warner was hit with three demerit points and fined but avoided a one-Test ban.

Spin legend Shane Warne has called on the Proteas and Australian teams to "stop whingeing" and sort out their issues following the controversy around David Warner's altercation with Quinton de Kock.

Warner was a lively presence at St George's Park on Wednesday morning, when ill coach Darren Lehmann was a notable absentee from the squad's first session at the ground. "That doesn't seem fair", said Gibson.

He continued: "Quinny wouldn't have said anything if something wasn't said to him first in the first place". But I wasn't out there. And they're not good images and it's hard to know, to comment specificially about this incident overnight, and any other time, unless you're there and know the ins and outs of what was said and what sparked it and the verbal volleys that would have been thrown around.

"Hopefully I can speak to him in the next couple of days, or after the game, or after the series".

"However, I don't think whatsoever there on the field that I have ever crossed that line".

"Then walking up the stairs and saying "I didn't say anything" as soon as the rest of his teammates came out".

"We've got to make sure we don't cross the line", he said.

South Africa would really like the umpires to start answering that question. Faf (du Plessis) was there.

There was no sanction from match referee Jeff Crowe over that episode and Warner defended his conduct.

As I said, it's a thing you wouldn't say about any lady, especially someone's wife or a player's wife. When they hear things, they must take charge and don't leave it to: oh, we didn't cross the line. It becomes unfortunate when everybody else hears stuff and the match officials say they haven't heard anything. We just feel that the umpires are there to do a job and they must do their job.

He also declared Warner was not, as he sometimes stands accused, a player who could dish out sledging but not take it.

So it looks like even Khloe herself isn't set on a name yet, but we love that she gave us a hint as to the direction she's leaning in.

"Unhappy might not be the right word". You didn't tell us where the line was. "Let's be clear where the line was".

That the saga‚ while a distraction to both teams‚ has been concluded without significant impact to either side will be welcomed by cricket aficionados.

The charges were leveled by on-field umpires Kumar Dharmasena and Sundaram Ravi, third umpire Chris Gaffaney, and fourth umpire Allahudiean Palekar.

"I think he'll probably say it was unnecessary himself".

"That's how I play my cricket. But, obviously, things change".
