Crufts protester tackled after breaking into arena as Best In Show announced


In a moment of quick thinking, Yvette grabbed her prize dog to protect her from the chaos, as security guards tackled the intruders.

"I am over the moon and completely ecstatic", she said.

Intruders disrupted the live broadcast of the Crufts dog show as the top prize was awarded.

The best in show award was the culmination of the four-day event, which attracted nearly 21,000 competitors, Crufts said.

PETA Director, Elisa Allen, said: "Crufts glorifies pedigree fetishists" twisted pursuit of the "perfect' dog".

The Crufts organisers, the Kennel Club, said they could not yet confirm if it was some kind of protest.

According to reports, the activists were from Vegan Strike Group - which campaigns against animal abuse - working with animal rights charity PETA.
