Speaking of the Internet of Things, the new Pi's Wi-Fi has "modular compliance certification", which means if developers use this Pi hardware in their final product, they won't have as much of a hassle getting the Wi-Fi certified by regulators.

Now, a new revision named Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is right on schedule for Pi Day.

Not many of us marry our first, second or sixty-second love, let alone make a go of it. We need wins and we have a huge game coming up next week.

The new board also has Gigabit Ethernet over USB 2.0 for faster wired networking speeds. The Model B+ sports a 1.4GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM2837B0 processor (compared to the 1.2GHz BCM2837 chip in the Pi 3), which the company says has come as a result of improved power integrity and thermal design. These have found their way into in schools, homes, offices and factories all over the globe.

A new version of the Raspberry Pi 3 has been unleashed, with a faster processor and notable improvements on the connectivity front. The B+ takes the 2016 Pi 3 Model B and ups the processing power and Wi-Fi speeds, alongside some other minor tweaks-all of which are outlined in detail below.

Together these allow us to reach higher clock frequencies (or to run at lower voltages to reduce power consumption), and to more accurately monitor and control the temperature of the chip. It must be noted that the Raspberry Pi 3B+ consumes "substantially more power than its predecessor", and thus a high-quality 2.5A power supply is recommended. The upgraded processor results in a 15% performance improvement. It throttles down further beyond 80 degrees (an unlikely event), notes PCMag. There are no plans to discount older models or cease production until there's a clear sign demand is drying up. Raspberry Pi 1B+ will continue to sell for $25, Pi 2B and Pi 3B for $35. Speaking to TechRepublic, Upton said, "It's not a Raspberry Pi 4".
