Colts' chances for Saquon Barkley improve after Browns sign Carlos Hyde

Former 49ers running back Carlos Hyde is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Browns on Wednesday.

With Hyde and Johnson both in Cleveland, the Browns may feel there are more pressing needs to address with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, such as quarterback, rather than spend it on another running back in Barkley. The strong expectation is the Browns kick off the draft by selecting Sam Darnold out of USC. Cleveland holds the first and fourth overall selections. So if the Browns wind up with Barkley as the best player on their draft board, above each of the quarterbacks or anyone else, he has to be the pick when they're on the clock the night of April 26. Among those joining the team are quarterback Tyrod Taylor, wide receiver Jarvis Landry, offensive linemen Chris Hubbard and Donald Stephenson, defensive lineman Chris Smith and defensive backs Damarious Randall and Terrance Mitchell. ESPN's Adam Schefter has also confirmed the report.

Giants Sign Former Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart to Two-Year Deal
Stewart brings veteran leadership, familiarity with the Giants' offensive coordinator Mike Shula , and a hard-nose attitude. The Panthers also used the No. 8 overall draft selection a year ago on running back Christian McCaffrey .

Cleveland Browns General Manager John Dorsey continues to remake his roster. In four National Football League seasons, Mitchell has 11 starts, including nine last season when he had four interceptions. He's getting a three-year deal worth more than $15M, including $6M in year 1. Hyde played his first full 16-game season in 2017, finishing with 240 carries for 938 yards and eight touchdowns.

The 31-year-old is a fifth-year pro who spent last season with the Detroit Lions, catching 17 passes for 177 yards with three touchdowns. He later went on to play collegiately for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2010-2013.

Don't Fret Over Sunday's Magnetic Storm
They have been fairly common as of late, with the March 18 storm being the third already in 2018, but some are larger than others. The storm could result in blackouts and jeopardize communication satellites, and thus all telecommunication on Earth.

Hyde's career with the 49ers ends after four up-and-down seasons, where he flashed potential but was ultimately unable to show enough consistency to warrant a long-term deal from San Francisco. In addition, Hyde has also made 109 receptions for 634 yards and 3 touchdowns in that time with San Francisco.
