MS abortion clinic seeks quick ruling

MS also ranked last in clinical care for children and in policy for infants (under a year old), both of which are weighted scores that take into account dozens of factors, such as teen pregnancy, "adverse childhood experiences", food insecurity and infant child care cost. The country's highest court has since banned the prohibition of abortion before fetal viability, usually seen at about 20 weeks of gestation.

MS became the first state to ban abortions after 15 weeks in pregnancy after its Republican Gov. Phil Bryant signed the measure into law Monday. The new law makes it illegal for women to obtain abortions after 15 weeks, even in cases of rape and incest. That new division is created to enforce both existing laws protecting the rights of conscience for medical personnel as well as the new regulations.

The Center for Reproductive Rights said it had filed a lawsuit to block the new law on behalf of the only abortion clinic in MS, the Jackson Women's Health Organization. In other words, a showdown is coming.

Pamfilova denied any incidents of observers being attacked or blocked from polling stations , despite videos posted online. Shortly before taking to the stage at the Vive Latino festival, the group also launched their latest single - "Elections".

The Center for Reproductive Rights said it had filed suit in U.S. District Court on behalf of the clinic to block the MS law.

Despite many attempts, Congress did not pass a federal ban on abortions occurring after 20 weeks, didn't cut off Planned Parenthood's federal funding and didn't write into permanent law the Hyde Amendment, which bans most federal abortion funding but needs annual renewal.

"We'll probably be sued in about half an hour", Bryant said to laughter from supporters as he signed the bill.

"Those are the ones we're trying to protect". "We are all about fighting to protect the unborn".

After signing this latest bill, Bryant wrote on Twitter, "I am committed to making MS the safest place in America for an unborn child, and this bill will help us achieve that goal". "The 15-week marker has no bearing in science".

Several conservative groups, including the Mississippi Center for Public Policy, were consulted when the measure was being written.
