PlayStation 5 Rumors: What We Know So Far

Two sources in particular said that the console is unlikely to release in 2019, let alone 2018, though multi-year long hardware projects can shift forwards and backwards in terms of dates in response to competition.

We've heard many a time about individual developers and their games doing surprisingly well on the Nintendo Switch, regardless of whether or not it's an entirely new release or has in fact just made a transition onto Nintendo's hybrid-console platform. It would be nearly suicidal of Sony to steal the spotlight out of PlayStation 4 right when it's more profitable and some of the best games are just coming out. Here's what we know - and think we know - about the PlayStation 5. It would only make sense to launch the next one after a while.

This would have the benefit of full (backward and forward) compatibility, though as a downside the Xbox One X's CPU could prove to be a bottleneck for next-generation games.

Rumours regarding Sony's next console have been swirling for much of this year, but the sources haven't been reputable, and so we've ignored them.

Tesco bounces back with £1.3bn profits
Profits have soared at Tesco after what boss Dave Lewis said had been "another year of strong progress" for the supermarket giant. Mr Hunter agrees and suggests that for the moment at least there "are not many clouds on the horizon".

"Over the past month, I've spoken to dozens of game developers, across a variety of disciplines and studios, about the next generation of consoles".

Two people that were directly familiar with Sony's new console said it is unlikely to arrive before 2020, although Sony's plans could change depending on what Microsoft does. Both of them said that the console will take 2019 at the earliest for release.

5 takeaways from Yankees-Red Sox Round 1
When Severino left, the Yankees were trailing by four runs, meaning the game was still in reach for a team with so much firepower. His previous walk-off was just last Saturday, when he hit a three-run homer to sink the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 14th inning.

Another rumour making the rounds is that a large number of dev kits had already been distributed to studios. Kotaku states that it's entirely possible that some kind of kit capable of developing console games that can't be run on the PlayStation 4 have been sent out, but that is not a great metric of how close we are to the release of the PlayStation 5.

But Jason Schreier from Kotaku has put together all the available information and come to the conclusion that the PlayStation 5 is probably not coming sooner than 2020. The report further reveals that its sources have pinpointed the release date to be sometime in 2020 or late into 2019 at the earliest.

Arizona's governor to send 150 National Guard's to US-Mexico border
Brigadier General Tracy Norris of the Texas National Guard said 250 troops would also be sent in the next 72 hours in response. President Trump is hopeful more will follow, having told reporters on Wednesday that he wanted to send up to 4,000 troops.
