Destiny 2's next expansion, Warmind, is coming in May

Step one will be the 1.2.0 update that's coming with the Warmind release, which will incorporate seasonal Crucible rankings, private matches, increased vault space, Exotic Weapon masterworks, and other new features. As revealed Warmind will be available alongside the start of season 3.

Destiny 2's second expansion will release on May 8, Bungie has announced.

Goyer and Friedman have been involved with the adaptation since last June, though they are not the first ones to try. Goyer (Man of Steel) and Josh Friedman ( War of the Worlds ) at the helm, as showrunners and executive producers.

Bungie says that the proper reveal will be shown on April 24 in a stream, so that's something to look forward to. In its latest Development Roadmap update, the team is lays out its plans covering the rest of the calendar year and announces the title and release date of the next major DLC.

Bungie have stated that Warmind "will send you to new places to meet new heroes and battle new enemies". In the summer, you can also expect some tweaks to come, including bounties, new seasonal event and PC clan chat. We don't know exactly what that means, but one of the biggest issues the game faces today is how weak and unexciting players feel in the competitive multiplayer modes, primarily because flashy, one-hit-kill weapons like sniper rifles and shotguns were shuffled into a special restricted "power weapon" slot.

Give Me A Story: lets you experience the story without too much of a hard gameplay challenge. In an announcement today, Sony gave more insight into the God Of War difficulty options.

Season 3 is also when Bungie will mix Crucible maps a bit. "With the arrival of Private Matches, players will need to purchase each Expansion to have exclusive access to play those Crucible maps with other players in a private match". First, the Warmind crucible maps will be available for matchmaking whether or not you have the DLC. There's a lot of change on the horizon for Destiny 2, hopefully enough to get Bungie's sequel kickstarted back into gear ahead of September's yearly refresh.

"We also want to bring back those exciting moments when you acquire the ideal weapon", the studio said. The company acknowledges this, writing in the announcement post, "For now it's all hands on deck to make sure we deliver on our promise to restore Destiny 2 to the hobby we all love".
