Instagram Announce New 'Focus' Feature, Similar to Apple's Portrait Mode

Twitter users didn't seem to care much about the new feature and mostly complained about other malfunctioning Instagram features and lack of support.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Zuckerberg asked its engineers to copy the Stories feature of Snapchat in Instagram. The report claims that Zuckerberg was anxious that if they did not do something to change up the way Instagram is used, they might miss out on an entire generation of users.

When you open the camera, you'll see "Focus" next to "Superzoom" under the record button. Instagram says Focus can be used on both rear and front cameras, as well as on video mode.

Your handset may or may not offer an in-built portrait bokeh mode to blur out the background in your photos, but Instagram certainly will.
