The King of Kong has been stripped of his title for cheating

Twin Galaxies is the world's largest record tracking for video games and has been around since the early 1980s.

Both Wiebe and Mitchell had since been surpassed, with current record holder Robbie Lakeman having turned in a verified score of 1,247,700 in February of 2018.

Note that this process also removes all of his scores, not just those related to Donkey Kong and the recent accusations.

Twin Galaxies stated,"Based on the complete body of evidence presented in this official dispute thread, Twin Galaxies administrative staff has unanimously chose to remove all of Billy Mitchell's scores as well as ban him from participating in our competitive leaderboards". This effectively ends his career in competitive gaming.

Nicki clarified and said they did not film together because of a scheduling conflict due to them both using the same hairstylist. It all stems from a song they did with Migos, "MotorSport," which was originally a collaboration with just Quavo and Nicki.

One beneficiary of Mitchell's expulsion from Twin Galaxies is fellow "King of Kong" star Steve Wiebe, who will now officially be recognized as the first person to achieve a score of 1,000,000 points on Donkey Kong. That brilliant documentary followed average guy Steve Wiebe on his quest to set the all-time Donkey Kong high score.

Most notable was the 3rd party (Carlos Pinerio) that Billy Mitchell engaged to help examine the dispute case claims on his behalf, utilizing whatever original equipment Billy could provide, whose final finding was consistent with Twin Galaxies investigation and others'. The assumption behind all of this, of course, is that Mitchell would be able to manipulate gameplay to his advantage while using an emulator.

Ultimately, all parties came to the same conclusion as Twin Galaxies: that Mitchell's scores should indeed be called into question.

"From a Twin Galaxies viewpoint, the only important thing to know is whether or not the score performances are from an unmodified original DK arcade PCB as per the competitive rules", the organization stated.

- While we know for certain that an unmodified original DK arcade PCB did not output the display seen in the videotaped score performances, we can not definitively conclude that what is on the tapes is MAME.

Mitchell's downfall follows the similar fate of Todd Rogers, who was also banned from the scoreboard after being found to have lied about achieving an unachievable score on the Atari 2600 game Dragster. Twin Galaxies had this to say.

Twin Galaxies was founded in 1981 by arcade owner Walter Day, but it came under new management in 2014 and is now led by "Head Custodian and Caretaker" (and Internet video personality) Jace Hall. "The use of MAME or any other emulation software for submission to these leaderboards is strictly forbidden". "Twin Galaxies has experienced a nice big dose of that again with this dispute".
