In October, out actor Anthony Rapp (Star Trek: Discovery) accused Spacey (House of Cards) of sexual misconduct when the two actors were working on Broadway and Rapp was 14. Spacey also acknowledged for the first time publicly that he was gay.
Rapp said that, after a party in Spacey's NY apartment in 1986, Spacey picked him up, placed him on a bed, climbed on top of him and made a sexual advance. Another anonymous man told the BBC that after meeting Spacey as a teenager, the actor invited him to visit his home in New York City. Spacey responded with an apology of sorts, saying that he did not remember the encounter.

The fallout resulted in Spacey being dropped from the sixth and final season of the Netflix series "House of Cards", and erased from the 2017 movie "All the Money in the World".
