Study Finds Bathroom Hand Dryers Spread Fecal Matter

In fact, hand dryers are spreading something disgusting right onto you: fecal particles.

"Bacteria in bathrooms will come from feces, which can be aerosolized a bit when toilets, especially lidless toilets, are flushed", study author Peter Setlow told Newsweek.

The hand dryers were found to be sucking up the impure air inside the washrooms and spraying it back on the hands of the users. So, in the brief moments your hands rest below the nozzle, they'll be exposed to far more air than usual-and far more bacteria.

Paul Ryan's retirement launches speculation about Steve Scalise
On Wednesday, Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) announced he would not seek reelection, and would retire at the end of the year. Ryan said Thursday that he had already spoken to a number of Republicans who supported the timeline.

Scientists studied three different bathrooms in the University of CT by placing special plates beneath the dryers for 30 seconds. They showed growth of just one or less bacterial colony.

"Within a large building, potentially pathogenic bacteria including bacterial spores may travel between rooms", the authors wrote in their research paper.

Researchers at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine found the dryers may suck in bacteria from flushing toilets and spread it onto your hands. While the study mainly looked for the lab-engineered bacteria, observation did show that pathogens like Staphylococcus aureus, which can cause skin infections, pneumonia, and sepsis, also were found in the bathrooms.

On Tuesday, Russia's ambassador to Lebanon said: "U.S. missiles fired at Syria would be shot down and the launch sites targeted". Corker, who is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is retiring from the Senate at the end of this year.

American scientists have concluded that hand dryers are the breeding grounds of harmful microorganisms.

Some hand dryers like those made by Dyson do use HEPA filters. New study finds that the measure of washing hands with soap to cleanse them may be undone by the hand dryer that is praying bacteria on the clean hands. They also exposed some of these sterile plates to the bathroom air under fans for 20 minutes.

For now, Setlow is sticking to paper towels-as is the University of CT, which has added them to all 36 bathrooms surveyed in the study.
