On Thursday, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said it had found belongings of the Thottapilly family, of Santa Clarita, as well as vehicle parts from their SUV about 14 miles down river from where investigators believe they rolled down an embankment.

Just weeks after the Hart family perished in a fatal plunge from an ocean overlook along the Pacific Coast Highway in Northern California, rescuers were searching for another family feared to have driven into water in the same county.

The Harts moved last spring to Woodland, Washington, telling their real-estate broker "they needed a fresh start" after experiencing prejudice in Minnesota and too much media attention in OR after one child was pictured in a viral photo taken at a 2014 police-brutality protest.

Authorities discovered the body of a child near where a Valencia family's van might have crashed in Northern California, officials announced Friday. They traveled from there to State Route 1 in Legget, California, and continued to travel south along SR 1 until they reached the Fort Bragg area around 8 p.m. Saturday, where they remained until about 9 p.m. Sunday, March 25. Results to get a child killed are still pending, Carpenter stated.

Colombia's president, Juan Manuel Santos, has sent top military and police officers to Quito in order to assist with the crisis. The group is believed responsible for a string of recently deadly attacks in northern Ecuador against military targets.

Five people have been confirmed dead after the SUV carrying Jennifer Hart, her wife, Sarah, and and at least three children plunged from a 150-foot cliff in Northern California onto the oceanside rocks below last month.

Carpenter said none of the car's occupants were wearing seatbelts. When the host confronted the mother, Hart said her kids had issues with food before adoption. Allman says DNA analysis from biological family members will be used to determine her identity. Devonte Hart, 15, Hannah Hart, 16, and Sierra Hart, 15, are still missing. The wreckage of their vehicle crash was discovered on March 26.

On March 23, DeKalb notified the department that she believed the children were being abused, according to media interviews and state records.

Records and interviews with friends and neighbors show Jennifer and Sarah Hart were repeatedly accused of depriving their children meals as punishment over the years.

Items belonging to missing family found in river amid search for bodies
Relatives of the Thottapilly family positively identified the items as belongings of their family members, authorities said. The California Highway Patrol said this week that a submerged vehicle had been spotted but then lost in the current.

Devonte drew national attention after he was photographed in tears while hugging a white police officer during a 2014 protest.

Anyone who came in contact with the Hart family or has any information regarding the time leading up to the crash is asked to call the California Highway Patrol, Ukiah area office at 707-467-4000 or the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office at 707-463-4086.

After Sarah Hart pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault, she and Jen pulled their children from schools in Minnesota, in favor of homeschooling.
