Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken on Friday led a candlelight march against the BJP government on the rape of minors in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao and Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua and demanded a speedy trial should be held and culprits be hanged till death. "Modi ji's silence is unacceptable", Rahul Gandhi said during his candlelight protest at the India Gate in New Delhi last night.
Earlier in the day, he thanked "thousands of men and women" who stood with him in protesting the rising acts of violence against girls and women and said their battle for justice would not be in vain. India wants to know: when?, Gandhi tweeted.
BJP leader Vaibhav Agarwal tagged the protest by a Congress as a fashion war and said that the party was politicising the issue.
