Father, daughter found in submerged vehicle in Mendocino County river

Search teams have recovered the last member of a Southern California family of four who went missing more than a week ago while driving home from OR, officials said.

Investigators have found and identified the bodies of three family members who vanished while on a road trip from OR to California.

Recovery divers found Sandeep Thottapilly, 41, and his daughter Saachi, 9, inside the family's Honda Pilot during a search Sunday, officials said.

According to a report from the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, the Sunday search consisted of 21 water searchers which included two Jet Ski teams, two boat teams and several Kayak/Carlson board teams.

Searchers are still looking for the couple's son, 12-year-old Siddhant. Autopsies will be performed on all three victims April 17.

Local news agencies are reporting that at least 70 searchers were involved in the rescue effort on the Eel River in Leggett, California. A tow truck then removed the vehicle, which was encased in a large amount of sediment.

"Several items have been positively identified, by family members, as belonging to the Thottapilly family", it said. But the Thottapillys never made it to San Jose and were later reported missing, police said.
