AI calling voice will identify itself to humans: Google

Google Duplex, the human-sounding AI assistant that can make phone calls for you, stunned us when it was demoed earlier this week.

All through, the voice assistant not only appears to be giving out appropriate responses and deals with complex situation, there is no way the person at the other end is going to realize that the voice at the other end making the reservation or seeking an appointment is not that of a human. The Assistant sounds more human than ever, which is an excellent feature for the service, as long as Assistant only interacts with you and your family.

And unlike the voices of current AI assistants which give off their robot origins, Duplex sounded natural. "For such tasks, the system makes the conversational experience as natural as possible, allowing people to speak normally, like they would to another person, without having to adapt to a machine".

Vettel has taken three straight pole positions but has been unable to convert his last two into victories, admittedly after a pair of untimely Safety Cars.

One area where Google has been able to already make significant progress with AI is in health care, Pichai said.

"Google Duplex is the most incredible, terrifying thing out of #IO18 so far", tweeted Chris Messina, a product designer whose resume includes Google and bringing the idea of the hashtag to Twitter.

"The key point here is that it should identify itself", Professor Abbass says. More than a year after Google made its Google Assistant available for iPhones, we are begining to see their AI close the gap on Siri. "In the video AI Duplex said it is calling on behalf of a client". If AI Duplex uses a human name to gain human trust, then clearly there is an element of deception and the AI would be acting unethically. The human on the other side of the line never asked it to identify itself. And they're even more hard to ignore when they start pitch-perfectly mimicking human interaction.

The word of the U.S. in negotiations is now worth a good deal less than it was before Mr Trump became President. He added that he hoped other signatories to the deal would not follow in America's footsteps.

While impressive, Duplex has also received backlash in the past few days, leaving Google to stress about transparency in the technology, reports CNET.

Abbass said this could have its pros and cons.

Chief executive Sundar Pichai and other officials said Google should find ways to reduce stress from technology and improve customers' "digital well-being".

He also added that every party seeks opportunities to grow itself, and this will be an indication of things to come in 2019. I had personally told them that we would give the ticket to Vanga's son, and despite that they inducted him into the party.
