Pashinyan promises Russian Federation and Armenia to have stronger fraternal ties


WASHINGTON-Congressional Armenian Caucus leaders congratulated the people of Armenia on the nation's democratic transition this week, joining legislators from around the world in congratulating newly elected Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and pledging support for closer U.S. -Armenia ties.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking upon arriving in Sochi, where he flew yesterday for participation in the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council's session, called on Russia's Armenian and Russian businessmen to make investments in Armenia. "I will continue doing everything I can in Congress to help Armenia succeed in its remarkable reformation".

Pashinyan pointed out that "Armenia's foreign policy strategy will not change in the wake of the recent changes" since, in his words, mass protests resulting in the resignation of Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan on April 17 had nothing to do with the country's foreign policy.
