The season will consist of 13 episodes. That's down from the usual episode count of 22, which tells us that ABC and Marvel's TV arm are still undecided when it comes to the live-action scripted drama.
The season five finale of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs on ABC this Friday, May 18.

There's no word yet if this will be Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. final season but all signs point towards this being the swan song for the Marvel series. Many fans assumed that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 would serve as a mid-season replacement and lead into the second part of Avengers: Infinity War.
He's by no means the only MCU character poised for a big return, mind you, given Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden's standalone movie also features Lee Pace (Ronan the Accuser) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) among its enormous cast list.
