Lee has spent 23 years investigating Cobain's death and believes the rock legend was actually killed in a conspiracy involving multiple government officials.

The acoustic has always been a bone of contention, as Silva has claimed Frances gave him the guitar as a gift - something that was denied by Frances.

Kurt Cobain's daughter Frances Bean Cobain has reportedly lost her father's iconic MTV Unplugged guitar to her ex-husband. The treasured heirloom had been passed through the hands of various family members, and has been loosely appraised as being worth several million dollars.

Back in 2014, journalist Richard Lee originally filed suit against the city of Seattle and its police department seeking to have access to photos of Cobain's body under Washington State's Public Records Act. According to TMZ, Frances allowed Silva to keep the guitar in an effort to "move on" and avoid any further legal proceedings.

She has since made a decision to hand over the guitar as a way of settling the divorce proceedings quickly without a trial.

"It's not [Silva's]", she said.

Frances has apparently done well out of the divorce though. The model had asked the judge to let her keep the guitar after denying she gave it to Silva as a gift.

It was allegedly the last one that Kurt Cobain played before his passing.

Frances isn't walking away from the divorce empty-handed, however.
