Wynne continues to campaign hard despite predicting loss in Ontario election

Many Ontarians were surprised and confused by Liberal leader Kathleen Wynne's announcement on Saturday that she won't be premier after Thursday's election. "And her request today for a minority government is a demand that she be allowed to continue to hold the power at Queen's Park - something voters have already rejected".

"Sometimes there's a reality and you have to face it, and I think the Premier was very courageous in doing that", says Hoggarth, who has served as Barrie's MPP since 2014.

"A majority with Doug Ford is the scariest situation for me", says Kerk.

"The more Liberal MPPs we send to Queen's Park on June 7, the less likely it becomes that either Doug Ford or the NDP will be able to form a majority government", Wynne said.

The announcement came as a surprise to numerous party's local candidates, many of whom said they learned about her comments from news reports and social media. It's about the people of this province.

Doug Ford is applying for the job of Premier of Ontario, but yesterday team Ford revealed they won't share any details of what he would actually do as Premier.

Ontario Steelworkers are proud to endorse Andrea Horwath and the NDP as the best choice in the June 7 election. This is a man who has defended candidates who speak ill of others - who smear people due to their religion or gender or sexual orientation.

Ford, meanwhile, had little to say about Wynne's announcement, noting only that the election is about change and people are fed up with the Liberals.

The Council of Canadian Innovators has released a document outlining the positions of Ontario's four major political party leaders when it comes to scaling up tech companies.

"Kathleen Wynne has abandoned the fight against Doug Ford cuts". His NDP won just two seats in that election.

With poll data indicating the possibility of a PC or NDP minority government, Bortolin told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com this is the latest example of Wynne's ability to make the tough calls.

Horwath says Wynne urging people to still vote Liberal is her tactic to maintain some power.

"Our steel and aluminum industries have just been slapped with steep tariffs by the U.S. Workers in these industries are under attack".

When it came to accessing talent, the Liberals have promised $132 million over the next three years to creating more postsecondary STEM programming, while the NDP promises to create 27,000 new co-ops and internships and redistribute $57 million from the Jobs and Prosperity Fund for opportunities in trade. I don't believe this is a man that people want to hand Ontario over to without putting him on the shortest of short leashes.

The Liberal Party has been trailing a distant third in recent polls, and Wynne's popularity has been low.
